JAZZ SPECTRUM vocal quartet +

Jazz Spectrum is an energetic, jazz-influenced vocal quartet backed by three horns and a swinging rhythm section. From lush ballads to hip renditions of big band music, from good-time ’50s rock n’ roll to lightning-fast vocalese lyrics, Jazz Spectrum lays down a dazzling performance of rich harmonies and tight ensemble work.

Jazz Spectrum’s roots date back to 1980, when the group consisted of piano, bass, drums, sax and an occasional vocalist. They performed throughout the ’80s during which time Bob became personal friends with The Four Freshmen. This inspired him to expand the vocals to a quartet, two women and two men. Bob had a ready-made pool of vocalists available to him. He was playing bass and piano for a hundred-voice community chorus. In 1994, weekly vocal rehearsals began and continue to this day. After some 25 years, it is amazing that there have been only three personnel changes to the vocal quartet.
